Botox®️
For years Botox has helped so many men and women successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. As people age, they long for a more youthful appearance. Botox is able to give them this.
Receiving Botox actually only takes a few short minutes, and anesthesia is not required. You will simply get injected with a fine needle into the specific muscle and feel only mild discomfort.
Our entire staff is dedicated to helping you. We want to ensure that you are happy with your results and that you never feel like you have any unanswered questions. We are here for you before and after your treatment.
Xeomin®
Xeomin® is an FDA-approved, highly-purified neurotoxin prescription injection that is primarily used to treat moderate to severe frown lines. An alternative to Botox and Dysport, Xeomin® is injected into your face muscles to soften frown lines and improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between your eyebrows, also known as glabellar lines.
The cosmetic effects of Xeomin® last for a short period of time and block the release of the chemicals that cause your muscles to contract, which over time, result in frown lines. Xeomin® lasts anywhere from three to four months and can take anywhere from 24 hours to ten days to take effect. The lifespan and effectiveness of Xeomin® primarily depends on your physiological makeup, which is why we recommend consulting your doctor at Balboa Medical Center & Spa before beginning treatment. Common side effects of Xeomin® include headaches, blurred vision, and injection site pain.
Dysport®️
Dysport® is an FDA-approved purified neurotoxin prescription injection that is primarily used to treat moderate to severe frown lines. To effectively minimize the appearance of frown lines between your eyebrows, Dysport’s purified Botulinum Toxin properties weaken the muscles in your glabellar area. Dysport® is incredibly effective which is why it is frequently used to enhance other parts of the face.
Dysport® lasts anywhere from three to four months and usually takes up to seven days to take effect. The lifespan and effectiveness of Dysport® primarily depends on your physiological makeup, which is why we recommend consulting your doctor at Balboa Medical Center & Spa before beginning treatment. Some common side effects of Dysport® include headache, swelling, injection site pain, or nausea.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is used to treat both men and women experiencing imbalances or drops in their naturally-occurring hormones. Hormones are responsible for most of your essential bodily functions, so when they are disrupted in any way, cascade effects across all your systems can ensue.
Symptoms that are common with menopause such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, memory loss, weight gain, sleep issues, and low libido can be dramatically improved with BHRT. For many other conditions, BHRT can improve vitality, energy, mental clarity, mood, weight loss, and even muscle strength!
BHRT comes in several different forms, and at Balboa Medical Center & Spa, we carefully take into consideration your symptoms, medical conditions, and history before making a recommendation for a specific treatment.
What Is Biote’s Method of Pellet Therapy?
Pellets are tiny, custom-compounded therapies for symptoms that stem from hormonal imbalances. The Biote Method may help keep a patient’s hormone levels consistent throughout the day. The pellet therapy that Biote trains on uses hormones that are bioidentical to those found in the human body.
What Type of Pharmacies Do We Work With At Biote?
The bioidentical hormones that Biote Certified Providers use are custom-compounded. Biote trains our providers to work with highly specialized outsourcing facilities during every step of the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) process. The pharmacies providing pellets employ rigorous standards and practices to ensure the sterility and potency of every pellet batch distributed.
What Kind of Estrogen Is in the Bioidentical Pellets?
The Biote Method of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) uses bioidentical hormones, meaning the chemical structure is the same as the hormones produced by the body, estradiol. Our approach to BHRT using pellets may help avoid unwanted side effects.*
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Each patient’s symptoms are unique, and so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization through BHRT. Most bioidentical hormone replacement therapy patients report some relief in as soon as four weeks, but full optimization may take up to six months or more. Some report feeling the most benefits after their second insertion. The bioidentical hormones for our hormone pellet therapy are customized to fit your patient’s specific needs.

What Is BHRT?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) may help relieve the symptoms of hormonal imbalance by raising hormones to their optimal levels.
What Is Hormone Imbalance?
As we age, the production of hormones can be affected. Too much or too little of a hormone can have effects on the body, ranging from moderate to severe.*
What Is Hormone Optimization?
The Biote Method of specialized hormone pellet therapy uses custom-compounded pellets specifically designed to replace the hormones men and women lose over time.
What Is Pellet Therapy?
During pellet therapy, pellets are inserted subcutaneously into the body in a quick, simple, in-office procedure. These pellets will gradually be absorbed, dispersing hormones throughout the body.
Why Bioidentical Pellet Therapy?
Hormone replacement patients receive as few as two bioidentical hormone pellet insertions per year. The hormone is available when their bodies need it, and it’s a simple procedure done right in the provider’s office.
What Is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Pellet Therapy?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) can come in oral, topical, and pellet forms. BHRT using pellets offers a consistent administration and may help address rollercoaster-like effects.
How Long Does a BHRT Pellet Take to Work?
Each hormone replacement therapy patient’s symptoms are unique; so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization. Most hormone therapy patients report some relief in as little as four weeks or sooner, but full optimization may take up to six months or more. The bioidentical hormone replacement therapy journey is customized to fit your patient’s specific needs.
How Can I Get Started With Bioidentical Hormone Balance Therapy?
First, a patient can find a Biote Certified Provider near them. If their healthcare provider is not listed, they can nominate a provider to become certified. Next, they schedule an office visit to test current hormone levels. Based on comprehensive consultation and extensive lab work, providers will determine candidacy for the Biote Method. Patients will schedule a quick follow-up appointment to review their results and, when appropriate, for pellet therapy insertion.
What Does Biote Do?
Biote developed a Method that offers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in the form of subcutaneous pellets. With more than 2.5 million insertions performed in the company’s history in over a decade, we’ve seen many lives changed with optimized bioidentical hormones. If any of the hormonal imbalance symptoms mentioned above sound familiar, use our find a provider tool or nominate a Provider tool to begin your journey to wellness today.
IV Therapy
At Balboa Medical Center & Spa, we are pleased to offer IV therapies to our patients. We offer a wide range of treatments, from simple hydration to more customized therapies, including unique combinations of vitamins and minerals. We tailor each IV therapy session to the individual, depending on their needs and existing conditions.
The primary benefit of IV therapy is that it delivers the needed products directly to the bloodstream. Rather than waiting for nutrients to be absorbed through the digestive system, our patients can quickly receive them where the body will actually utilize them. Most therapies take between 15 and 30 minutes to administer, and we even have some patients come in on their lunch breaks!
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Balboa Medical Center & Spa is proud to offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to our patients. PRP has continued to grow as a reliable way to effectively treat sexual dysfunction, and even has aesthetic applications such as improving overall skin and hair health.
How does it work?
Our blood predominantly consists of plasma, which carries red and white blood cells and platelets. PRP is created by drawing some of the patient’s own blood and then using a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets within a sample of the plasma. This concentrated sample of platelets is then combined with the original blood sample. We can then inject this platelet-rich blood into the treatment area. While results may not occur immediately, many women experience improved sensitivity, functionality, and muscle tone while improving the performance of sexual function and bladder control.
Injectables
One of the most common signs of aging is volume lost in your face. As your facial tissue thins out, the lines become etched around your nose and mouth. Dermal fillers are able to replace the lost volume and help to smooth out wrinkles, plump the lips, and help to restore a more youthful appearance.
Every person ages at a different rate. Some people age a lot quicker than others, which causes them to become self-conscious. We always want you to be happy with the way that you look. We can help you reach your goals.
There are many different injectables that we offer our patients. Injectables will help you add volume, create angles, and freeze time. This will give you an amazing and youthful look of which you can be proud. Over the past few years, more than 1 million people each year have received injectables and have found them to be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery or any downtime.
Some available injectables include Juvederm, Restylane, lip augmentations, wrinkle treatment, and scar removal; so there are many from which to chose. You can speak with the plastic surgeon during your consultation on what injectable will benefit you the most depending on what your goals are.
During your consultation, we will evaluate the areas that you are concerned about and review your medical history. We want to make sure that the treatment is safe and you will be happy with the results you receive.
Depending on the area that is being treated, you will have results immediately. Some patients may experience mild bruising or swelling; however this will be temporary and will subside over a few days. You will be able to go back to your regular routine right after treatment. The results are also not permanent. You will want to continue to receive treatment every 6-12 months.
Our entire staff wants to assist you with getting the look that you are searching for. We will always go above and beyond for every single patient. The first part of your consultation will be to determine if you can undergo plastic surgery. Once you have been approved, we can start looking at how to get you the best results. You are always welcome to ask any questions, and we will always answer them to the best of our abilities.
If you have any questions regarding injectables or would like to schedule a consultation, contact us today at (818) 701-0017.
